The re-design of Parks Canada's hiking brochures and maps was based on an in-depth assessment of the media produced for the mountain parks. For the assessment, we worked with Rightline Consulting and produced a 60-page document and presentations that examined the effectiveness of Parks Canada's printed materials, graphic design, website design, kiosks and trail signage.
We created new brochures that are consistent between all the mountain parks. The new designs are more inviting, informative and user friendly – with 3D looking satellite maps and the introduction of trail difficulty ratings. All materials were produced in both French and English.
The Bicycle Cafe is a bike shop with two locations in Canmore, Alberta, and Kamloops, BC. The logos we designed are used on Cafe products including clothing, gift cards, stickers, hang tags, water bottles, website design, graphic design and signage.
Riders sporting the Cafe jerseys, shorts, socks, arm warmers, vests and jackets can be seen ripping the trails and roads across western Canada. Actor Robin Williams even owns a kit.
Canmore has a new craft brewery – they are delivering tasty beer in Canmore, Banff and Calgary! We designed the Canmore Brewing Company logo to showcase Canmore's iconic Three Sisters mountains. Originally the Three Sisters were called the Three Nuns – as a tribute we hid a small nun in one of the mountains...can you find her? We helped with various branding materials including the beer name logos, tag line, bold orange and white can graphic design, photography, beer van wrap, sales sheets, trade show banner stands, bicycle jerseys and schwag. Chateau Mountain Sports – a sports and rental shop in the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel required a re-branding because of a change of ownership. We created brochures, business cards, hang tags, ceramic water bottles, truck decal graphic design, signage and website design.
To promote the company's radiology services across western Canada, we produced an eye-catching advertising campaign using composites of radiology images and people photos.
Work we have done with Mayfair Diagnostics over the past eight years includes: advertising, signage, posters, forms, tradeshow booths, banners, stationary, graphic design, billboards, wine labels, direct mail, water bottles and various printed materials.
Sunterra Market is a family-owned, Alberta-based fresh food market with nine locations in Calgary and Edmonton. They began their story over 50 years ago as farmers and are dedicated to growing, processing and marketing quality foods. Their integrated marketing campaigns we designed include: posters, bag stuffers, newsletters, stationary, digital screens, banners, invitations, advertising, recipe cards, table signs, t-shirts, signage graphic design, shopping bags, logo design and gift cards.
The Sunterra ROOTS program (Reciprocity, Opportunity, Openness, Trust, Service) is Sunterra's way to give a bit back to the community. They have partnered with Inn from the Cold (an emergency family shelter), Adopt a Family and Edmonton's Food Bank. We designed the ROOTS identity to promote Sunterra's heartfelt community charity program.
NRG is a bicycle industry distributor for brands including Maxxis, iXS, Chromag and Surly bicycles. We have been helping to build NRG's business for six years by designing their annual 100 page catalog. The catalog showcases their products, interspersed with the mountain bike lifestyle photography of John Gibson.

The Gibson Pictures web site was designed to showcase John Gibson's mountain bike photography. Scott Hart editor of Decline Magazine wrote, "John is a straight-up assassin with a camera. I think he was a military sniper in a past life. Check his body count at www.gibsonpictures.com and sift through the blood and guts of over a decade of Gibby's hard work." Promotional book for Interbike – the Las Vegas bike show. Three days before the show we put together and printed a 40-page, perfect bound, CD-sized book, with a collection of John's most recent photos of both action shots and portraits to give to current and prospective clients.
The bike/camera logo we designed is used throughout John's printed collateral.
The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is a film festival held annually in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The marketing materials we produced helped to increase festival attendance by over 25%, to more than 40,000 people. A poster series, bus boards graphic design, advertising and a sponsorship package were created by Jean McAllister while working at Rare Method. The photography is by Charles Hope.

The branding for Martha's Heli-Hikes was inspired by vintage Canadian Pacific Railway tourism posters. We created eye-catching and colourful summer and winter graphic illustrations and a logo and wordmark for posters, website design and brochures that were distributed in brochure racks by Impact! throughout Canmore, Banff the Alberta and British Columbia mountain parks.
The new owner of a 55-year-old insurance brokerage needed branding to match the changing community of Canmore, Alberta. The identity work we designed included: naming, tagline, logo design, building signage, advertising, website design, graphic design and print collateral. This outfitting company from Bragg Creek, Alberta, guides rafting, mountain biking and hiking trips in the foothills of the Rockies. We created vintage style branding with historical images for their logo, brochure, business cards, van decals and signage. The images communicate the fun and classic hospitality provided on their guided adventures.
The Interpretive Guides Association's mandate is to teach people to connect with nature in Canada's mountain parks. Their re-branding included a new name, tagline, logo design, identity guidelines, brochures, trade show banners, pins, graphic design, handbook template and website design. The logo is a mountain range and alpine lake, combined into a feather – a metaphor for the stories that are told by the Banff National Park interpretive guides. The content management website includes online registration and is programmed by VerTechs. The brochures were required in French and English.
We worked with Tourism Canmore Kananaskis to design it's summer brochure – 250,000 copies were distributed throughout Alberta. Photography and graphic elements were used to showcase the beauty of this mountain area. Click here to view the full brochure.

The 24 Hours of Adrenalin events attract thousands of mountain bike racers every year. Its brand is well known, allowing us to change the colours and create fun new designs for the schwag the racers take home.
For the past six years the promotions we designed for 24 Hours of Adrenalin include: Adrenalin24 e-magazine, race T-shirts, beer glasses, bicycle water bottles, banners, email templates, posters, number plates and various other graphic design materials.
In 2013 24 HOA increased their efforts to partner with brands that could enhance the race experience. We produced brochures and advertising to help attract the right partnerships. Honey Stinger, Merrell, Jeep, Kokanee, Planet Foods and Right To Play were amongst the companies that joined in for the weekend.
